  1. Is it possible to get the exact location of the kelly plantation? He was my direct grandfather some generations back. Is the plantation still standing?

    1. John Kelley is also my direct ancestor. The house was no longer there when I visited as a teenager in the 1970s. I was there once briefly and do know how to get to the property. There were some old bricks from the chimney then and the large rocks that marked graves. At that time Steve Kelley, great-grandson of Sing Kelley, did not know exactly who was under each stone, except that John Kelley Jr. was one of them. You would need to locate a descendant of Steve Kelley in Camden, and they might know where the land was. It is possible that some Clyburn descendants in Camden might know. The map on this post would help get you close to the general area: https://kdduncan.blogspot.com/2020/07/john-kelley-jr-in-1820-1830-1840.html
